Product Description |
| This 4-1/2-quart pot is ideal for simmering soups and stocks and making party foods such as chili. It's also a perfect Dutch oven, great for baking in the oven and for braising, say, a pot roast on the stovetop or in the oven. Revere's Tri-Ply cookware is made of handsome, mirror-finish, 18/10 stainless steel. Each pot or pan has an aluminum disk in its bottom to spread heat quickly and evenly. The disk is sandwiched between layers of stainless steel, so the exterior finish still offers an easy cleanup. This pot carries a 25-year warranty against defects and should be hand washed. --Fred Brack |

Tired of Fancy-Schmantzy Cookware
|
| Review Date: October 11, 2008 |
| Reviewer: S. Jenna, MD |
After 40+ years of cooking with every kind of cookware you can name---from the original Revereware starter set we got as a wedding gift in the 60s to the pricey gourmet brands, I'm back to the basics. There's no coating to scratch up, score with use and have curl up on you no matter how careful you are and no disappointing Calphalon to have to treat with kid gloves when you wash it. No matter what "magic" surface product you use, some foods are going to stick. At least with the Revere, you can scour your pan back to its original, spot-free, unscarred surface and know you're cooking with a clean pot every time.
I would definitely buy this product again. |
I Agree, But...

I agree with the following reviewer, BUT found this pot to have MUCH, MUCH thinner gauge metal than any previous Revereware. So thin, it bent slightly out of round when scrubbing it and now the cover does not seal as tightly as it should. I, too, am older and have Revereware that still can withstand all I can do to it after more than 35+ years! I don't like the handles on Farberware, as well as Revereware, but find it to have thicker gauge metal. Also, the bottom disk on this Revereware pot is thinner and smaller than previous Revereware pots, so doesn't heat as evenly. I noticed that Farberware's disk is thicker and covers the entire bottom of the pot, so in the future, may buy Farberware instead.
