Summary: While it worked….
Comment: …it was great. However, this was the 2nd time I purchased this model, thinking the 1st was a fluke. (The first one lasted 3 years) After 14 months, I woke up today to a machine that was on, but the warmer was not warm and the coffee never started brewing. As this machine only has a 1 year warranty, there isn’t much I can do about it other than warn others. A little disappointing from a company that normaly makes quality products.
It goes without saying that there will not be a 3rd.

Summary: A Premature Death
Comment: My trusty Black & Decker lasted 4-5 years. The Braun? It started off great, but keeled over after less than a year. Maybe the hard water killed it. After decalcifying it 4 times, using vinegar, and two different commercial cleaners/decalcifiers, it now works. But, it’s taking up to 10 mins to brew roughly 2 cups of coffee. And, the coffee’s no longer piping hot. It’s kinda hot. I only used it once a day, so it’s not as if it was overused.
I could take it to a repair center since it’s still under warranty. I really don’t want to devote that much time to resurrect a coffee maker.
I won’t be buying another Braun product.

Summary: Longevity is lacking
Comment: The buttons stopped working. I think it should last more then 3 years. At the price I paid for it. Otherwise it’s cheaper to buy it everyday!!

Summary: Miss my old Braun…
Comment: I recently purchased the Braun KF590 to replace my 11 year old Braun coffeemaker. It works fine-makes good coffee once you figure out just how much coffee you need to use to get it “just so” (just so=works for you, since everybody’s coffee tastes are unique). I miss the coffee flavor selector my old one had. I have found the right amount of cups to coffee ration, so for me now it’s fine. I sought out another Braun because it lasted so long, but it was quite a chore to locate one, and I’m very disappointed in the pricepoint. I guess I could feel better about the 100 bucks if it lasts at least half as long as it’s predecessor. And yes, my little filter release button is flaky…apparently it likes to have weight in the basket in order to function properly. After all, it’s only plastic, and not a big bother to guide the empty basket out. In the long run, my guidance will help the little button stay intact. So overall, makes pretty good coffee, costs a bit more than it should, keeps it hot longer than 2 hours when programmed (another feature I wanted-I hated being boxed into a 2 hour time frame on my lazy Saturday mornings). I have not experienced the “burned” tase you can get from it being on the hotplate so long, another feature I enjoyed with my old one.Overall, not too bad, unless it breaks…

Summary: Great machine!
Comment: I’ve used it three weeks now and all is well. The machine makes great hot coffee and rather quick too.
